Rewire location changed in 7.3.1
Be aware that instead of placing your rewire components in the main Library/application support folder, you must now place them in Library/Application Support/Propellerhead software/Rewire.
REWIRE note regarding Pro tools 7.3
It has come to our attention that version 7.3 exhibits a ‘crash on quit’ when Soundminer’s rewire slave plug-ins has been instantiated during the course of the session. It sometimes identifies itself as a ‘segmentation fault’ and other times it simply quits. It always happen when a user is trying to quit Pro Tools even if Soundminer has been de-instantiated. Soundminer is not the only rewire slave reporting this behaviour. The problem appears to be the rewire host connection (Pro Tools). Digidesign is aware of the issue and a fix is underway. There are no reports of any data loss with this ‘crash.’ This behviour was originally fixed in 7.2.1.
Special note regarding Pro tools 7.2 (Aug 1/06)
Pro Tools 7.2 installer appears to not install the host Rewire DLL. It is absolutely necessary to have this item and the most current Rewire DLL in the main Library/Application Support Folder. A number of things can happen if you install 7.2 depending on whether you entered as an admin or regular account. It can take out our version of the rewire slave (Soundminer engine) or it can lock it off and not overwrite an old one. In short, you have to manually make sure that the most recent Soundminer engine is in your Main Library/Application Support folder and that the most current Rewire DLL (1.7 - it must be this version) also resides there. As a final check we would suggest you also make sure Digi has installed the Digi Rewire plug-in in their plug-in folder. You can get the latest Rewire DLL from Propellerheads directly:

7.1cs9 - Unique ID issues(Aug 20/06)
Pro Tools 7.1cs9 and higher appears to have an issue with any file imported by a third party. No unique ID is registered by Pro Tools and subsequently when trying to re-open the session it will ask you to re-link the file (you can only do so by filename). Digidesign is aware of the issue noted on the DUC and should provide a remedy soon. You are best to stay with 7.1cs8 at this point or move to cs10 if you need to stay with 7.1.
Digidesing Pro Tools is ubiquitous in the professional audio industry and different version have very different features. We try to inform users of the latest news regarding the various versions.
Stay tuned or email us if you find an issue so we can make Digidesign aware of any potential problems.
